1. Happy Independence Day to those in the US!

2. Possible splitting point for DH? What do you all think?
SPOILERS )

3. Official: 18 Mobile & 11 Desktop Wallpapers )

4. J.K. Rowling is contributing a story to Kids' Night In 3 to be published on September 28, 2009. I'm looking forward to reading it!! =)

5. I hope Rupert Grint is better now! He apparently had the swine flu...

6. QUESTION: HELP!! What type of fireplace would Malfoy Manor have? Would it be a Victorian type fireplace?? If you can attach a picture or link, that'd be great! Thanks!

7. Another question: Has anyone seen "The Proposal"? Any good?

8. And Sarah Palin...All this speculation and everything. I, honestly, think she just wants out of politics and that she just had enough of all the personal attacks on her and her family. She did say something about people making personal attacks on her son. And I guess she didn't want to seem like she was giving up, so she tried to give it a nice spin on her leaving... and possibly keep her options open for the future. Don't think that nice spin worked though... I mean, if she isn't going to be a "lame duck" and waste money, her Lt. Gov will. She just insulted the guy. Huh.

Bloomsbury facing plagiarism lawsuit over HP
06:12pm 16/06/2009

Miss Elizabeth
The British publisher of 'Harry Potter' books faces a plagiarism lawsuit from Adrian Jacobs' estate who wrote the book, Willy the Wizard, in 1987.

Er, what?? This sounds sort of really fishy. Why are they bring up the lawsuit now if this is about Goblet of Fire, eight years after it was published?? And if anyone has seen JKR talk about Harry Potter, then I don't think they would think the idea was never hers. They're obviously after money since the author was bankrupted in 1991 after he had a stroke (according to the book's website).

Has anyone actually read “The Adventures of Willy the Wizard — No 1 Livid Land”? Though a reviewer at amazon.co.uk said that "it very much appears to resemble Harry Potter". What do you all think?

New HBP Pics & DH News
11:34pm 06/06/2009

Miss Elizabeth
There are new HBP pics of Katie Bell, Draco, Harry, Aragog, etc. that have been published in Harry Potter e il Principe Mezzosangue Sticker Album (Portkey.it has graciously scanned the images for all to see!). I squealed when I saw the ones of Draco alone, and Harry and Draco in the bathroom (poor Draco though - LOL). The pictures are exciting and I thought I'd share my favourite ones. =)

SPOILER ALERT: New HBP Photos )

New Interview: HBP Q&A w/Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and David Yates at MSN UK

HBP Soundtrack: The track listings for the soundtrack has been released. You can completely see what's going to happen and when it's going to happen in the film. It looks like the attack scene at the Burrow happens at the... )

DH News:
Rhys Ifans has confirmed that he will play Xenophilus Lovegood in DH. Isn't that exciting?? I thought he was great in "Notting Hill" and I can completely imagine him as Mr. Lovegood. Though I did imagine Mr. Lovegood to be older than him. =)

Tom Felton has tweeted that he's finished his first costume fitting for DH. While going over to do his hair/make up, he said: "lets hope malfoys hair isn't going to drastically change this year! I thought that was hilarious!! Draco has with (almost) each new film changed hairstyles, hasn't he?

Emma Watson reportedly said that she'd make the kiss scene "memorable"... I dunno (correct me if I'm wrong), but the kiss in the book didn't seem that long, did it?

Unrelated:
Matt Lewis (Neville) just recently tweeted, "There appears to be some confusion. When I said voting tomorrow. I meant the European Parliament elections. Not Mr. Twitter Universe..." That totally cracked me up!!! Who cares about the Mr. Twitter Universe voting when RL elections are going on? LOL.

Isn't J.K. Rowling pretty?? She attended the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Annual Fundraising Gala Dinner tonight with her husband, which was held at the Hampton Court Palace in London, UK.

"J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life" and "Land of the Lost"
06:03pm 02/06/2009

Miss Elizabeth
I've finally gotten a chance to sit down and watch "J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life". I know, I know, I'm slow. It's been sitting on my computer for over a year and I completely forgot about it! The second half was quite moving; it was her life before her success. Some tidbits that I didn't know about her: I didn't know that she smoked, albeit not everyday (it sounded like she only did it when she was stressed). She loves and indulges in shoes. She has anger about injustices such as social deprevation and social exclusion, and how it feels to exist in poverty. It causes her fury that people can't or don't seem to care about injustices (even about things that affect them such as crime and drugs). The hand over of the DH manuscript was interesting. I would've never have guessed it was at the airport. And that DH was finished in Room 552 at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, UK on January 11th, 2007. Her next project is a political fairy tale that she's not in a hurry to publish.

Her comment at the book signing to a child who was also named Hugo was so cute! It was really nice to see her draw the Potter and the Weasley family trees, and explain. Victoire was named so because she was born on the anniversary of the final battle. Charlie is not gay. I've never envisioned him as gay and I'm slightly confused as to how people could even think so (canon-wise). James Sirius' godparents are Hermione and Ron. Luna's children are younger than the Potter/Weasley family. It made me think back upon the fanfics I've read that had Loran and Lysander the same age as Rose, Scorpius, & co...

Has anyone else not watched the one hour special yet? If not, you should definitely watch it! Go!

*~*

Yesterday, I was watching the "Today Show" and they ran a clip of Matt Lauer's cameo in the "Land of the Lost". It was hilarious!! For a second there, I thought it really happened while he interviewed Will Ferrell. The movie looks fabulous and it's definitely on my list of movies to watch. I haven't been tempted to go see a movie in such a long while. "Angels and Demons" did look interesting for awhile until I saw more clips near the release date and it just sank, in my opinion, to my DVDs to watch.
