I've finally gotten a chance to sit down and watch
"J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life". I know, I know, I'm slow. It's been sitting on my computer for over a year and I completely forgot about it! The second half was quite moving; it was her life before her success. Some tidbits that I didn't know about her: I didn't know that she smoked, albeit not everyday (it sounded like she only did it when she was stressed). She loves and indulges in shoes. She has anger about injustices such as social deprevation and social exclusion, and how it feels to exist in poverty. It causes her fury that people can't or don't seem to care about injustices (even about things that affect them such as crime and drugs). The hand over of the DH manuscript was interesting. I would've never have guessed it was at the airport. And that DH was finished in Room 552 at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, UK on January 11th, 2007. Her next project is a political fairy tale that she's not in a hurry to publish.
Her comment at the book signing to a child who was also named
Hugo was so cute! It was really nice to see her draw the
Potter and the
Weasley family trees, and explain.
Victoire was named so because she was born on the anniversary of the final battle.
Charlie is not gay. I've never envisioned him as gay and I'm slightly confused as to how people could even think so (canon-wise).
James Sirius' godparents are
Hermione and
Ron.
Luna's children are younger than the Potter/Weasley family. It made me think back upon the fanfics I've read that had
Loran and
Lysander the same age as Rose, Scorpius, & co...
Has anyone else not watched the one hour special yet? If not, you should definitely watch it! Go!
*~*Yesterday, I was watching the
"Today Show" and they ran a clip of
Matt Lauer's cameo in the "Land of the Lost". It was hilarious!! For a second there, I thought it really happened while he interviewed
Will Ferrell. The movie looks fabulous and it's definitely on my list of movies to watch. I haven't been tempted to go see a movie in such a long while. "Angels and Demons" did look interesting for awhile until I saw more clips near the release date and it just sank, in my opinion, to my DVDs to watch.
