In a previous post, I mentioned that WB had a collage of Harry Potter clips of Year 1 to 5. Exciting, isn't it?

Now, you can download it from iTunes for free. (Or you can view it below.)

The Time Traveler's Wife (New Line Cinema)

In Theatres: August 14, 2009
Director: Robert Schwentske
Featuring: Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, Arliss Howard, Ron Livingston, Stephen Tobolowsky, Jane McLean, Brooklynn Roulx
Producers/Executive Producers: Nick Wechsler, Dede Gardner, Brad Pitt, Richard Brener, Michele Weiss, Justis Greene
Classification: PG-13 (PG Canada; 12A UK)
Length: 107 minutes

I'm very excited to see this movie! Rachel McAdams is awesome and I'm sure Eric Bana will be too. I've only ever seen him in "Troy" and her in "The Notebook", which were fabulous films themselves. Actually, now that I'm looking at her list of films, I've also seen her in "Mean Girls" and "Wedding Crashers" too...

"The Time Traveler's Wife" ("The Time Traveller's Wife" in the UK) is based on the internationally best-selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger about a love that transcends through time.

The music video of "Big Beat Repeat", which appears on the HBP soundtrack and shows scenes of the movie. It's quite funny! With all the clips and interviews released before the movie came out, I somehow missed this video.

1. Feltbeats has 44 photos of Tom Felton's meet & greet in Toronto and Much Music interview on Facebook (you don't need an account). You should check out the ones when he's leaving...he was mobbed. His facial expression is hilarious!

2. Go vote for your most, second, and least favourite drabble @ [info]sortinghatdrabs! I'm participating this round and it's Ron & Draco this week. =)

3. Free movie: "Monsters vs. Aliens"!! If you're in Toronto on August 29 @ 11 a.m. (ETA: It's not just in Toronto, but any Rainbow locations in Canada)

4. If you weren't able to write 20k words for [info]hermionebigbang, then their Phase I is open. You pick a piece of artwork or video, and create a fic inspired by it with a minimum of 1,000 words (which is perfect for me!)

Deadline is September 6, 2009 with no extension. The artwork is fabulous and there are a bunch of Draco/Hermione, Severus/Hermione, gen, amongst others! Go have a look at least cause they're lovely, lovely. =)

5. So f-list, if you've seen me commenting on some of your posts dating back a month for the past couple of weeks, then just letting you know I've been catching up. =)

Interesting tidbit fact of LJ that I've found out - individual journals can go back 500 entries, while your Friends page can go back 800 entries.

Um, I forgot who it was, but one of you was looking for Molly Weasley icons. [info]inspired_ideas has some here.

6. Warner Bros. Canada has a collage of clips of HP1 to HP5 put together called, Retrospect. Time really does fly!

7. Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour has a shot of a fake Hermione from CS when she was petrified. There's also hilarious video tours with Ellen Degeneres. Click on the Video section and scroll down to "VIP Studio Tour promo clip". I didn't realize they used a prosethetic Hermione.

8. If you like Kreesha Turner, you can download for free five of her songs, courtesy of Playtex. It includes new songs from her album, "Passion". It's great and best of all, it's free!! ;)

9. Lastly, you can win a HP prop!! I'm out 'cause I don't live in the US, but all those that live in the US, well, go enter! You might win. I'm sad that I can't enter.
Promotional Prop Sweeptakes Poster under the cut )

10. Oh, and one more thing - if you have Twitter, then apparently you can surprise your "Muggle followers with magical gifts"! That sounds cool, except that I don't have Twitter. What do you get??

Movie Review: "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"
07:04pm 28/07/2009

Miss Elizabeth

Director: David Yates
Actors: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon, Jim Broadbent, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Dame Maggie Smith, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright
Classification: PG
Length: 153 minutes
In Theatres: July 15, 2009
My Rating: Must See It In Theatres: Get Advance Tickets (4.5/5 stars)

I finally got around to writing this review...I did go see HP6 on opening day. I had passes to exchange for tickets, which had to be done at the box office and not online. But you can still check online to see which showtimes were sold out. The day before (7/14), only the eight o’clock evening showtime was sold out. The next morning I checked, all the evening showtimes were booked. And the theatre had multiple showtimes and auditoriums showing the movie. Needless to say, my friends and I just decided to go in the afternoon (since we were able to). We made it for the 4:20 showtime just in the nick of time. The commercials were starting to play, but not yet the trailers. The seats weren’t bad, it was in the middle; although the auditorium was pretty full with people scattered everywhere.

“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, the sixth instalment of Harry Potter is the best adaption yet of all the films adapted from JKR’s popular fantasy novels following a boy wizard orphan. Harry returns to Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry for his sixth year and centres around finding out Voldemort’s past and his trust in a potions text that was once owned by the “Half-Blood Prince”.

Not once did I look to check if the movie was over yet. (That’s a good thing since last time I saw a movie where I kept checking the time, “The Soloist”—I think I checked my phone for the time at least seven times.)

The translation of HBP from book to screen was perfect. It was able to touch on all the right tones and leave the spirit and all of the most important parts intact. Obviously, filmmakers can’t translate every single detail and some things will have to be cut out. As long as they capture the arc of the story, then it is fine. In this case, HBP choose to explain Voldemort’s past, which is the key ingredient towards explaining his survival and rise again. It also holds the key towards defeating him.

SPOILERS: Movie Review Continued... )

My Ratings:
Must See It In Theatres: Get Advance Tickets 4.5 - 5/5
See It In Theatres 3.5 - 4/5
Buy It On DVD 2.5 - 3/5
Rent It On DVD 1.5 - 2/5
Borrow It From The Library 0.5 - 1/5
Don’t See It At All 0/5

1. Can't wait till HBP!! Four more days, two hours and some odd minutes & seconds!!

Tribute.ca has an interview (video) with Tom Felton just before the Meet and Greet in Toronto. (Link to Download)

Everyone really should see this or if you're avoiding previews, etc. until you've see HBP, then bookmark it to view it after you've seen the movie. WB has released 20 minutes of behind the scenes footage to IESB.net.

CNN had viewers send in questions and the cast respond. It includes Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, David Yates, and Emma Watson. (Video here)

ComingSoon.net has a written interview with Tom Felton and Muggle Hub has an amazing HBP screensaver among other things such as posters, wallpapers, site skins, etc.

More Video Clips... )

2. Geesh! What's the press coming to these days? PM Harper was 1 min 20 seconds late to the G8+5+1 photo op and it was all over the news!!! That makes me feel bad since usually when I'm late, it's more than two minutes...

3. I find it a bit sad that the VANOC decided not to include the women's ski jumping but included men's ski jumping...and then the court ruled against them...

How Exciting Is This?

Miss Elizabeth
How exciting is this? I walked out today and saw a bus that was broken down in front of my house (it's still there now and people have stopped by to look at the side of the bus - LOL)...and do you know what was advertising on the side of the bus??

HBP!! And of course, I took pictures. The second pic is from my window on the second floor. **Grin** Plus, you know what the freaky thing is? I changed my desktop wallpaper to the exact same picture less than 24 hours ago! This brightened my day since it's right outside my house.

French HBP Special: "50 Minutes Inside", which features approx. 10 minutes of interviews, behind the scenes, and new scenes. The interviews are dubbed, but if you strain, you can hear the English. I had to view it twice since my French is a bit rusty... New scenes include Quidditch, WWW, Hermione and Harry @Slughorn's Party, etc. Partial translation is here and the full 11:37 minutes is available for download here, courtesy of UHP. I really laughed when Dan struggled to say the intro in French and the pause before the last word, especially since "Inside" is English!! LOL

Yahoo has an exclusive clip of Dumbledore and Harry (Interviews, behind the scenes, and new snippets/scenes: 03:49 long).

Thirty second clip: includes the magic working in the Unbreakable Vow.

The Making of Harry Potter and the HBP: The Videogame, hosted by Tom Felton: Parts 2 and 3 are now available. In addition, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Freddie Stroma (Cormac McClaggen), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Jessie Cave (Lavande Brown), and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) all talk about dueling, potions, and Quidditch.

4. J.K. Rowling is contributing a story to Kids' Night In 3 to be published on September 28, 2009. I'm looking forward to reading it!! =)

5. I hope Rupert Grint is better now! He apparently had the swine flu...

6. QUESTION: HELP!! What type of fireplace would Malfoy Manor have? Would it be a Victorian type fireplace?? If you can attach a picture or link, that'd be great! Thanks!

7. Another question: Has anyone seen "The Proposal"? Any good?

8. And Sarah Palin...All this speculation and everything. I, honestly, think she just wants out of politics and that she just had enough of all the personal attacks on her and her family. She did say something about people making personal attacks on her son. And I guess she didn't want to seem like she was giving up, so she tried to give it a nice spin on her leaving... and possibly keep her options open for the future. Don't think that nice spin worked though... I mean, if she isn't going to be a "lame duck" and waste money, her Lt. Gov will. She just insulted the guy. Huh.
